ABOUT THE ROLE

The Umpire Attraction and Development Specialist is responsible for leading Australian Cricket in our pursuit of creating brilliant participation experiences for volunteer and paid community umpires. The role is responsible leading initiatives that focus on attraction, development, and recognition of umpires.

We’re looking for someone who has demonstrated experience leading and implementing development programs. If you consider yourself to be someone who has a customer / participant mindset, someone who is eager to drive change and is passionate about we would love to hear from you. We have big ambitions for this space, so we’re looking for drive, passion, and energy to bring our plans to life.

Reporting to the Head of Capability, your responsibilities will include:
Lead and manage Community Umpire Development Program and Pathways
Seek to grow community umpiring numbers through targeted initiatives that advocate the great role umpires play in servicing cricket.
Work in partnership with Sate and Territory Umpire Managers to develop and implement nationally aligned S&T umpire programs and pathways.
Collaborate with Community Cricket’s Participation teams to support implementation of umpire attraction initiatives across Community Cricket.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business, Sport, Adult Education or HR related discipline in preferrable
You have a growth mindset; you’re willing to challenge the status quo.
You think big and innovatively.
You have experience delivering marketing and / or recruitment initiatives.
You have experience developing and delivering learning programs.
You’re comfortable presenting to large audiences and collaborating across a diverse stakeholder landscape.
Officiating, Umpiring and knowledge of Cricket’s Laws and regulations is desirable but not a must.
Experience working in high performance sporting environments.

There is a preference for the role to be based in Melbourne, however other locations may be considered.
