**About the Role**

This is an exceptional opportunity to join our Global Operations team as **Purchasing Officer** of our Brisbane operations. This role provides timely & efficient delivery of raw materials to the Brisbane site whilst working within the defined parameters associated with Global Procurement, optimum inventory levels, and site operations.

**Key Responsibilities**

Responsible for:

- To place Purchase orders to ensure the adequate and timely delivery of materials to the site enabling efficient operations for the site - supplier shelf life, warehousing, production, and customer service.
- To monitor material demand/product forecasting and communicate potential RM shortages to the Site Planner and Plant Manager - investigate alternate options for discussion with Planner and Manager.
- Maintain RM & Packaging inventory levels within the requirements of the site and in accordance with Global Procurement guidelines.
- Ensure goods arrive on time and in full to the site and communicate all delays & early delivery issues to the Production Supervisor, QA team, Planner, and Plant Manager.
- Seek out alternate suppliers domestically & globally - service level, lead times & price-based options.
- Maintain current pricing, freight costs supply lead times, and any unique supply details within the SAP systems and any Reports related to the supply of materials to the site.
- Coordinate with 3rd party logistics transportation department, arrange shipment schedule and monitor shipment status daily and provide a weekly update (Thursday) on incoming goods - Incoming Report.
- Coordinate with the Production supervisor Warehouse and monitor the status of goods-in. Follow up on the issue status till it is solved - Supplier, Freight / Transport.
- Familiar with the import process and maintain a good understanding of the import regulations/policy. Ensure required documentation for RM is current and correctly processed.
- Monitor Slow moving stocks and communicate with Customer service to obtain information to discuss with Plant Manager and Planner.
- Optimise freight options via consolidation or quantities where appropriate.
- Ensure the Quality dept & Planner are updated with RM or packaging changes.
- Measure and report or Supplier performance - DIFOT, Quality, Shelf life.
- Monthly cost & data checking and initiating or participating in cost-saving and continuous improvement projects with site-based teams or with external parties to benefit the site & business.
- Work very closely with relevant internal and external parties to support the site, business & customers and offer solutions & alternatives to any issues or events.

**EHS**
- Perform, Maintain, and support the EHS standard and requirements for the site & Company.
- Participate in the company’s J2EE program including Element owners & Site activities.

**About You**
- Business administration /purchasing-related qualification is required
- Minimum five (5) years of working experience in a purchasing/procurement-related function.
- Experience in import, transportation, and warehouse
- Experience using SAP system
- A good team player with high integrity and able to work under high pressure
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in using other Microsoft software i.e. excel, PowerPoint
- Possess a safety mindset
