Assistant Principal Learning and Support

**Position Information**:
The Disability Standards for Education 2005 provides the context for the role and activities of the Assistant Principal Learning and Support. The role will be underpinned by a collaborative and consultative approach involving all key stakeholders. An emphasis in the role of Assistant Principal Learning and Support will reflect school and state-wide priorities and programs that support students with additional learning and support needs in schools. The role requires the successful applicant to travel between work sites and prioritise, and manage an individual caseload.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Proven ability to build capacity of learning and support teachers and communities of schools through the facilitation of quality professional learning, skills training and peer coaching.
2. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to effectively manage competing priorities while delivering a quality service to schools.
3. Proven ability to promote and support the systems and development of effective and collaborative learning and support teams within schools.
4. Ability to work closely with the Delivery Support team to enhance inclusive practices and promote positive student behaviour.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
