**About the role**

Your typical day-to-day work includes playing a critical support role in in supporting annual budget processes and strong financial management across the public sector.

You will be undertaking quantitative analysis of budget trends, risks and pressures at a whole-of-government and government agency level. Contributing to reforms and improvements to Budget controls, policies, systems and processes.

This role liaises extensively with other areas within Treasury and will play a critical role in the budget process and consideration of policy proposals from NSW government agencies.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

- Qualifications in public policy, finance, economics, law, data science, accounting or a related discipline.
- Strong quantitative skills with experienced in analysing and interpreting data
- A good understanding of, or interest in, government, public policy, and budget management
- Experience working collaboratively within teams and with stakeholders to devise solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable dealing with complexity and competing deadlines
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, PowerQuery and PowerBI will be viewed favourably.
