Apprentice Woodwind and Brass Technician

**Key Responsibilities**
- Diagnosis, service and repair of Woodwind and Brass instruments
- Client management and development, maintaining current client relationships while procuring new clients including schools and organisations.
- Workshop stock control
- Occasional attendance of community events, trade displays, conference and recruitment nights.
- Occasional general retailing including receiving goods, processing sales/orders, following open and close procedures

**Essential selection criteria**:

- Exceptional eye for detail
- Dexterous and good eye hand coordination
- Time management skills
- Mechanically inclined
- Willing to listen and learn
- Quick learner
- Past experience repairing brass and woodwind desirable (but not essential)
- Past experience in a related field favorable (but not essential) woodwork / metalwork/ fabrication / engineering / model building
- Sound understanding and the ability to use Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Mail
- Ability to work on Saturdays and occasional evenings
- Ability to manage competing priorities, tasks and overall expectations
- Ability to play and demonstrate a woodwind instrument
- Australian drivers license (preferred)

We are family owned and operated retail music shop specialising in Brass and Woodwind sales, repairs and rentals all delivered with a focus on exceptional customer service.

We are passionate about music education and the benefits playing a musical instrument can have for people at all ages. Over the last 20 years we have supported the musical community through a range of events and workshops as well as our scholarship program.

Our repair workshop has built a reputation by only accepting the highest standard or repair work no matter what instrument is being worked on.

We are more than a shop, we seek to continue to build the Australian music community.

**Shop hours**

10am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday
10am - 2pm Saturdays

Closed all public holidays

Occasional hours outside of this for events / conference etc.

On going Part time position - somewhat flexible shifts by negotiation.

Base wage tied to retail award + super
