**A** **bout Victoria Catholic Education Authority (VCEA)**
VCEA is the peak body for Catholic school education in Victoria. Established in 1973 by the Archbishop of Melbourne and
the Bishops of the Balla**_ _**rat, Sale, and Sandhurst dioceses,**_ _**it was incorporated in 2006 and acts as the voice of Catholic
school education in State and national matters.

VCEA receives and distributes funding from state and federal governments for Catholic schools, provides strategic
leadership and pl**_ _**anning, and en**_ _**sures proper governance in Catholic school education statewide. It is responsible for
sector leadership in education integrity and governance and has a Memorandum of Understanding to act as a Review
Body for Cath**_ _**olic**_ _**schools with the V**_ _**ictorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA). As a Review Body, VCEA
supports, reviews, and monitors the compliance of Catholic schools with all registration, reporting and other
requirements under relevant laws.

**About the role**
The Communication and Advocacy team is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies,
developing communication material, managing media relations, leading or supporting advocacy efforts, and providing
expert advice within VCEA. The team collaborates with all VCEA's portfolios to advocate in the interests of Catholic school
education in Victoria, helping VCEA build meaningful relationships with key stakeholders.
The Digital Communications Officer will support the Manager, Communication and Advocacy through ensuring accurate,
targeted digital content is created and available on VCEA’s website, intranet and other digital platforms. In doing so they
will play a key role in enhancing the image and reputation of VCEA, support effective communication with stakeholders
and drive advocacy efforts for the benefit of Catholic school education in Victoria.

**Reports to **Manager, Communication and Advocacy

**Key responsibilities of the role**:

- Coordinate content for digital channels including website, intranet, enewsletters and social media ensuring
- accuracy, timeliness and adherence to brand guidelines.- Use analytics and feedback to monitor, measure, evaluate and report on the performance and impact of VCEA’s
- content and digital channels.- Use data and insights to inform data driven enhancements, development and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor and moderate social media, including to identify issues and improvements and to contribute to strategic
- communications advice.- Provide advice and support to VCEA staff on usability, accessibility and functionality of digital content.
- Support the development of communication resources such as templates, branding, style guide and
- communication plans.- Review organisational documents to ensure adherence to VCEA templates and style guide.
- Assist staff to develop corporate documents, presentations and materials that are professionally presented.

**Key selection criteria**:

- Experience in the development of content for digital channels including websites and intranets.- experience preferred.- Experience with monitoring and moderating social media, including to identify issues and improvements.
- Ability to measure performance of digital content by tracking appropriate metrics and making recommendations to
- content owners to improve performance.- Ability to produce high-quality, accurate information for a range of audiences with attention to detail.
- Strong writing, editing and problem-solving skills.
- Effective relationship-building and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work productively, respectfully

and sensitively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

**Skills, qualifications, and pre-requisites**

**Qualifications **Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field

**Previous **A minimum of two years’ experience working within a communication or marketing position.
