**Are you passionate about supporting Koorie youth to achieve their potential?**

We are looking for a 0.4 FTE Koorie Academy of Excellence Liaison Officer to join our team until 14 August 2024. You will plan and deliver a program of out of school opportunities for participants in the Koorie Academy of Excellence to build their leadership, career and academic strengths and their cultural connections.

We are looking for someone with excellent planning, organising, stakeholder management and teamwork skills.

This is a great opportunity to support young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in the inner north of Melbourne.
- The primary responsibilities of the Koorie Academy of Excellence Liaison Officer is to:
- Support the development and delivery of a structured Koorie Academy of Excellence (KAE) program based on connection to culture, leadership, academic strength and school engagement, for Koorie students in years 7 to 12.
- Develop KAE students' leadership opportunities and capabilities through cultural and leadership activities designed to support students to become leaders and role models in their schools, communities and beyond.
- Work with the students' schools and the Department's Koorie Education Workforce to ensure individual education plans and career action plans for KAE students are in place and progress is documented.
- Develop and maintain partnerships within the cross-disciplinary Area team, with KAE students, their families, the Koorie community, government departments, community service providers and tertiary institutions to support the development and delivery of programs and activities within the KAE program.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Incorporated, Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Groups, and with the Region's Koorie Education Manager, Koorie Education Coordinator, Koorie Engagement Support Officers, and multidisciplinary Area-based teams, to keep them informed about KAE programs and share expertise on relevant student and Koorie education matters.
