Technical Writer Opportunity

**Your new role**

The Technical Writer will report to the Executive Coordinator, Digital Business Partnering for induction, general supervision, management, performance management and quality of deliverables produced, and to ensure alignment with the defined project management methodology, standards, processes and tools.

The Technical Writer will also report to the Project Manager and Lead Trainer for general direction, supervision, management, performance management and to ensure alignment with the defined methodology, standards, processes and tools.

The Technical Writer will develop engaging and fit for purpose technical writing deliverables, such as training content, work instructions and reference guides, that enables the successful delivery of ICT Projects. The position may be required to create other technical documentation as required such as dynamic forms. The position will be required to consult with Product Owners, Functional Support Analysts, Organisational Change Analysts, Users, Vendors and Learning & Development.

Key Responsibilities:

- Facilitate and lead the design and development of all instructional learning content required for training delivery, including but not limited to, work instructions, reference guides and technical support documentation
- Provide specialist advice regarding development of documentation strategies and plans
- Distil relevant information and present that information in a simple format using appropriate tools (written and visual) suitable to the target audience
- Lead key stakeholders and contract resources though all documentation activities
- In collaboration with organisation teams stakeholders coordinate solution (technical and business) documentation for new solution packages, releases, functionality and customisations
- Responsible for ensuring the delivery of all technical writing deliverables are within agreed timeframes
- Monitor progress of any risks/issues associated with approved technical writing schedules and plans
- Provide regular status reports on documentation progress and associated deliverables to key stakeholders
- Provide advice and guidance to improve Documentation processes and procedures to facilitate continuous improvement and efficient execution, including research, evaluation and recommendation of documentation tools and methods.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in Business, Information Technology, Information Management, Computing or similar discipline
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or training delivery experience in IT environment would be highly regarded.

Personal skills and attributes:

- Passion for creating engaging content that enable learning outcomes
- Ability to communicate with clarity and clear explanations regarding information technology related matters
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to interact with team members and customers to achieve positive outcomes
- Experience and ability to deliver high quality documentation suitable for the target audience, in both technical level documents and common English narration
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to supervise staff and provide guidance and leadership
- Proficient skills with Microsoft Office, Adobe Writer, training platforms and graphic design software
- Demonstrated experience in delivering in Waterfall and Agile frameworks
- Strong ICT technical background with proven capabilities to deliver technical manuals and guides, installation guides, support manuals, user manuals and policy documents
- Experience within an Enterprise Asset Management environment would be desirable.
