**Position Description**

Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of the Industrial Waste Attendant is to provide efficient and proactive cleaning and maintenance services to the manufacturing site. It is important that you prioritize and ensure compliance with VCVA’s Environmental Policy and Workplace Health & Safety requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Cleaning of spray booth painting facilities with high pressure washers, and removing excess paint build up from the facility
- Collection and emptying of factory bins into the Site's waste compactor units (e.g., plastic, cardboard, and general waste industrial sized wheelie bins)
- Cleaning of the factory floors and aisle ways via the Site's ride-on floor sweeper
- Cleaning of paint trolleys by placing in chemical paint stripper tank and high-pressure water washing
- Identifying and taking initiative with respect to the level of cleaning required based on the condition of the equipment
- Proactively report defects as they are identified, ensure compliance with VCVA's Environmental Policy, Workplace Health & Safety requirements, and in general take any reasonable steps and precautions to protect or minimise harm to the workplace, its employees and the environment.
- When required provide shift cover to support different shift and weekend working.
- Provide accurate and timely guidance and advice to Production operators performing cleaning works on behalf of Maintenance
- Perform buddy training when required
- ensure full PPE is worn for all duties and that all equipment is switched off after use
- Other relevant duties as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/ or Site Management.

**Experience**
- Previous experience in a waste management environment
- Previous experience in a ‘handy-man’ role can be advantageous
- Basic knowledge of machinery, safety requirements and their maintenance
- Ability to perform small repairs by using hand-tools
- Good Communication Skills
- Motivated and able to work as part of a small team with mínimal supervision
- High safety conscious and understanding of the need for full PPE and safety procedures
- Working autonomously as part of a small team with mínimal supervision

**Educational Qualifications**
Holder of a valid forklift license (LF)
