Position Description

The Primary purpose of the industrial cleaner role is to provide efficient and proactive cleaning and minor maintenance services to the manufacturing site and prioritize and ensure compliance with VGA's Environmental Policy and Workplace Health & Safety requirements.


Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Cleaning of spray booth painting facilities with high pressure washers, and removing excess paint build up from the facility
  • Collection and emptying of factory bins into the Site's waste compactor units (e.g. plastic, cardboard, and general waste industrial sized wheelie bins)
  • Cleaning of the factory floors and aisle ways via the Site's rideon floor sweeper
  • Cleaning of paint trolleys by placing in chemical paint stripper tank and highpressure water washing
  • Identifying and taking initiative with respect to the level of cleaning required based on the condition of the equipment
  • Proactively report defects as they are identified, ensure compliance with VGA's Environmental Policy, Workplace Health & Safety requirements, and in general take any reasonable steps and precautions to protect or minimise harm to the workplace, its employees, and the environment.
  • When required provide shift cover to support alternate shift and weekend working.
  • Prior to commencing cleaning ensure that full PPE is worn for all duties and that all equipment is switched off
  • Other relevant duties as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/ or Site Management.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in a maintenance environment
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team with mínimal supervision
  • Previous experience in an industrial cleaning, maintenance or 'handyman' role
  • Knowledge of machinery, safety requirements and their maintenance
  • Good Communication Skills
  • High safety conscious and understanding of the need for full PPE and safety procedures

Licences

  • Current forklift license (LF)
