Supplier Quality Manager

About the job
Global Quality and Food Safety in Sourcing (QiS) are the gatekeepers of ingredients, packaging, and finished products procured or manufactured for Danone. As we serve a highly sensitive and diverse group of consumers and patients, this is reflected in the diversity of supplier and co-manufacturing sites (CoMan) to be managed, and depth of the relationships that need to be built and maintained.
We seek a dynamic **Supplier Quality Manager - Oceania** to join our global team. Reporting to QiS Team Lead - Asia, Middle East and Oceania (AMEO), you will support our global mandate by ensuring Danone QFS requirements are implemented at all supplier and co-manufacturing sites to ensure safe, compliant, and fit-for-use materials and products. This role is based in south-eastern Australia.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- End to end ownership of assigned regional supplier and CoMan sites to drive maturity, compliance, and performance. This includes on-site auditing, CAPA follow up, non-conformity and KPIs handling, documentation updates, training of personnel, and overall relationship management
- Develop culture of quality, consumer-centric and risk-based mindset, of suppliers, CoMans, and cross-functional Danone stakeholders
- Support delivery of business continuity, innovation, and productivity projects requiring new site development, or existing site expansion
- Collaborate with Procurement, Specification Management, and global QFS teams to implement supplier and material risk mitigations, which drive sustainable and long-term supply security
- Serve as a point of contact on Global QFS standards for suppliers, CoMans, and Danone stakeholders
- Play an active role in animating and facilitating network of local SQMs across the region; bridge with global teams to provide clarity on QFS standards, processes, and tools
- Co-lead or provide expertise to global QiS programs, initiatives, and priorities. Co-lead creation and implementation of relevant category standards and transversal projects worldwide (e.g.: material specific requirements, upstream food fraud, emerging risk roadmap, transversal general requirements, etc.)
About you
You are an experienced professional who is autonomous, proactive, and dependable. You excel at connecting with cross-functional stakeholders and possess strong persuasion skills. Your ability to communicate effectively, even when delivering difficult messages, and influence individuals outside of the Danone organisation is crucial. You build trust-based, transparent relationships and can take the lead in ambiguous situations, always striving to ensure QFS compliance.
For this role it is important to have a “self-starter” mindset, with strong eye for detail, and willingness to travel internationally.
Ideally, you will have:
- 5+ years of experience working at a management level in food production or infant nutrition manufacturing environment
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing, manufacturing, and handling of diverse set of ingredients and finished products, in particular dairy-based
- Strong knowledge of Danone product categories (or similar) and key manufacturing processes, especially dry blending and packing for Specialized Nutrition (SN)
- Data gathering and analysis capability, including statistical process control (SPC)
- Demonstrated command on Food Safety Management System (FSMS) components, project management, and problem-solving techniques
- Previous auditing experience, preferably with lead auditor certification
- Strong skills in cross-functional and cross-cultural stakeholder management
- Capability to work autonomously, travel frequently (mostly within Oceania region), connect with remote team members, and independently manage personal schedule
