- Infrastructure and Health Support Services, a division of Canberra Health Services, are responsible for:
Capital project delivery;
Facilities Management;
Minor Works Team and Off-Site Maintenance

- The Infrastructure and Health Support Services, Facilities Management Division, is responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, asset management, utilities and contracts and leasing for the Canberra Health Services property portfolio across the ACT.- The Facilities Operations Manager will have a unique understanding of the responsibilities and accountabilities of the role, being able to work collaboratively across a range of areas in CHS. The incumbent will provide outstanding leadership, communicate professionally and work with flexibility, efficiency, and diplomacy both individually and as part of a complex team effort.**DUTIES**:
Under limited direction of the Facilities Maintenance - Director you will be responsible for managing planned and reactive maintenance activities across the Canberra Hospital. The Facilities Operations Manager is also responsible for managing internal FM trade staff and contractors within a selected area ensuring a healthy, safe and productive workplace. You will:

- Manage planned and reactive maintenance undertaken by contractors and internal trade staff, including the management of rostered on call staff
- Undertake regular audits in relation to Work Health and Safety (WHS), 5S initiatives and maintenance contracts including but not limited to:

- Task observations
- Contract maintenance performance
- Plant room inspections
- Internal workshop 5S inspections
- Represent Facilities Management in meetings with internal and external stakeholders, in order to provide client areas with a high level of customer service and escalating issues as required to reach effective outcomes.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and progressive improvement of Facilities Management policies and procedures relating to WHS and planned and reactive work order management.
- Participate in the development and implementation of FM best practice maintenance and asset management activities ensuring efficient and effective outcomes are achieved in relation to asset lifecycle.
- Manage minor procurement activities relating to planned and reactive maintenance and/or the replacement of plant and equipment.
- Line management of trade staff focussed on WHS, planned and reactive maintenance, performance reporting and general HR activities. Undertake regular meetings, such as toolbox talks, with internal trade staff and contractors.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

**ABOUT YOU**:
**Behavioural Capabilities**
- Extensive knowledge and significant proven experience managing building maintenance or projects in relation to building services and infrastructure.
- High-level interpersonal skills in order to influence and provide key information to support decisions made by a diverse stakeholder group.
- Professional and personable with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders within the Directorate, across Government and industry to benefit the quality of service delivery from Facilities Management.
- An organised approach to work, managing competing priorities and attention to detail on work undertaken.

**Position Requirements/Qualifications**:
Mandatory
- Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or
- Hold a relevant building degree; or
- Have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience.
