**The Department**

Clinical registries provide valuable epidemiological data regarding the natural history and progression of diseases and are used to answer real-world research questions. The CORRP Unit provides advice, support and project assistance to Monash clinical registries. CORRP are a multidisciplinary team of academics, statisticians, IT experts and mixed methods researchers.
This position is to support projects within the Clinical Outcomes data Reporting and Research Program (CORRP) Unit

**The role**

The Senior Manager/Manager, Surgical Registries will be responsible for the overall management of CORRP surgical registries, in particular the Australian Breast Device Registry (ABDR) and Australasian Pelvic Floor Procedure Registry (APFPR). Both these registries are funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and are important national device and procedural registries. The Senior Manager/Manager will oversee a range of significant and complex activities that play a critical role in supporting the successful achievement of key outcomes for these registries against their contract deliverables.

This senior leadership role is responsible for managing the operations and supporting a team of staff, whilst managing relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, as required. The Senior Manager/Manager, Surgical Registries is responsible for all aspects of project management, including delivery of the project in accordance with agreed contracts, protocols, standards and desired strategic outcomes.

The Senior Manager/Manager, Surgical Registries will utilise specialist knowledge to provide expert advice on registry related matters and lead change initiatives where required to ensure the successful delivery of the registries they are accountable for. The position also has a key role in streamlining the activities and processes for device and procedure registries within the unit, and in identifying and sharing best practices across the various projects.

**Qualifications/Experience**

**_ Essential_**

The appointee will have:

- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area such as public health, health management, or project management and; or
- Extensive relevant experience and management expertise;
- or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training

**_ Desirable_**
- Prior experience in clinical registries management would be desirable

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Excellent operational management skills with proven ability to provide authoritative, specialist and technical advice and guidance
- Excellent project management skills with a proven record of successfully managing all aspects of medium to large-scale projects through to completion, in accordance with agreed, standards, timeframes and budgets
- Highly developed planning and organisational skills, with experience establishing priorities, allocating resources and meeting deadlines
- Experience in motivating and developing a team of professionals to achieve project objectives
- Highly developed relationship management skills, including the ability to interact, influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders
- Highly developed analytical, evaluation and research skills, including demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new concepts, problem solve, and information and deliver positive, innovative solutions
- An understanding of the ethical and governance requirements of managing health data
