The Finance and Procurement Reform Program Team is involved in a number of projects streams relating to the re-implementation of the Department's current Oracle solution onto a new Oracle Cloud Software as a Service instance.
The purpose of the role is to define business problems, identify efficiency gains or improved customer service opportunity in relation to the new Oracle Cloud implementation. It also includes documenting of business process maps, user stories and/or requirements (functional and non-functional) to meet business needs. Designing appropriate system solutions, leveraging technology opportunities, and an understanding of financial best practices, to deliver a quality solution.
The Principal Financial Analyst works closely with project teams ensuring that the business objectives are achieved, and benefits realised.
Accountabilities
- Be accountable for planning and leading / facilitation of workshops with relevant stakeholders to define the business problem, efficiency gain or improved customer service opportunity.
- Provide advice to stakeholders in relation to functional requirements and design implications including cross program implications.
- Develop business process maps, user stories and/or functional and non-functional requirements based on SSU's standards and methodologies.
- Document data migration and system integration specifications.
- Quality assures deliverables prepared by third parties, identify issues and provide clear recommendations for resolution.
- Provide input to project scoping, sizing and estimates.
- Support system and user acceptance testing activities.
- Provide support for functions delivered by the Program Manager, Finance and Procurement Reform.
- Lead the team's adherence to financial standards and best practices.
- Lead the team's adherence to the government, IDS and SSU's strategies, policies and methodologies (e.g. PDM).
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
Technical Expertise
- Demonstratable understand of project management methods incl Waterfall, SaFE and Agile Proven experience with Financial ERP system implementations, upgrades and or maintenance projects.
- Advanced knowledge of finance and accounting practices.
- Experience in Finance ERP Systems implementation - such as SAP or Oracle cloud experience.
- Working knowledge of Integration methods and technologies inc TIBCO and Oracle ERP/Cloud.
- Demonstrated experiences in business analysis and requirements management
- Experience and knowledge with Oracle Integration Cloud desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of Oracle ERP licensing structure desirable.
- Strong functional EBS/Cloud - Financials and Procurement skills desirable.
