- As a leader within Skills Tasmania, the position will manage inter-governmental relations in the skills and workforce portfolio with a particular focus on implementing national reform as it impacts the training and workforce development system in Tasmania. The position will serve as a critical link between government leadership and various stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making and promoting transparency, accountability and effective governance.We are a diverse and inclusive workplace that understands the importance of flexibility. **Duties**:

- Provide high level policy advice to internal and external stakeholders, and departmental Executive on inter-governmental matters in the skills and workforce portfolio.
- Manage and monitor the implementation of National Partnership agreements in the skills and workforce portfolio, to ensure timely and appropriate delivery of obligations.
- Efficiently manage designated resources and provide effective leadership within the work area to ensure that work objectives are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard.
- Liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders, including the Australian Government, other Tasmanian Government agencies and registered training organisations, to ensure Tasmania’s interests in national policy discussions are appropriately advocated.
- Participate and represent the Department as required at a national and state level.
- Undertake research, investigations and analysis to enable the development of high-level advice on policy, operational, technical and/or legislative matters.
- Prepare Ministerial briefings, Cabinet submissions and responses to Ministerial and client enquiries regarding workforce development and training matters, particularly as they relate to inter-governmental and national reform matters.
- Actively promote a work environment that demonstrates tolerance of, respect for and interest in the wellbeing of individuals.
