**AFC DUTY SUPERVISOR & SWIM COACH**
**PERMANENT, FULL-TIME
Cranbrook School is seeking a Duty Supervisor & Swim Coach for the state-of-the-art
Murray Rose Aquatic & Fitness Centre, based at the Senior School campus in Bellevue Hill.

**ABOUT THE POSITION**

This role work with the Head Swim Coach and Assistant Head Swim Coach to deliver a
successful swimming program for Cranbrook School and Cranbrook Aquatic Swim Club and
support the safe day-to-day operations of the Aquatic & Fitness Centre.

As a Swim Coach you will plan and prepare squad sessions that are fun and positive
experiences that focus on correct swimming technique in a safe environment. You will attend
all swim meets, club nights, training sessions and clinics. By conducting fair assessments of
all swimmers, you will ensure all participants are graded appropriately.

As a Duty Supervisor you will supervise a team of lifeguards and perform lifeguard duties as
required, conducting safety and equipment inspections and pool testing and coordinating set
up/pack down each day. The Duty Supervisor is the point of contact in an emergency and
works closely with all other members of the AFC team to insure a safe aquatic environment.
This is a full-time, permanent position.

**ABOUT YOU**

You are an enthusiastic and experienced aquatics professional with a strong safety focus. You
have a customer service approach to all interactions and are committed to providing an
excellent user experience.

Capable of working collaboratively within a team, you possess an exemplary understanding
of best practice pool operations and high-quality swim coaching techniques.

You are an excellent communicator and possess high level organisational skills. You respond
quickly and effectively to emergency situations and have a can-do attitude to solving
problems.

**SELECTION CRITERIA**

- SCTA Development Coach accreditation or higher (previously Bronze)
- Previous coaching experience at competitive levels
- Aquatic Technical Operations (Pool Ops) Certificate
- Current Pool Lifeguard qualification
- Ability to use software including Meet Manager and Swim Central
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills
- A level of mobility that supports the ability to respond to a first aid / behavioural

incident
- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications
- A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- A demonstrated understanding of child safety and appropriate behaviours when

engaging with children.
