Experienced Workers Compensation Consultant for flexible part-time assignment in a Top 1 mining company.
**Your new company**
Western Australian mining Top 1 company, with multiple operations throughout the state. Leader in sustainable production, they manage the entire process, from mining the raw material to refining and smelting.
**Your new role**
As a Workers’ Compensation Consultant, you will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service to employees' claims under the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act (WA) 1981.
Your duties will include:
- Ensure that claims are processed in a timely and confidential manner and in accordance with state legislation, Workcover and the company’s Self-insurance requirements.
- Engage with management, union, and employees to provide guidance across all relevant working bodies through departmental activities and meetings.
- Manage claims to resolution as well as ensure fair and objective claim decisions. This involves determining liability through investigation and negotiating settlements.
- Develop and maintain a proactive approach to minimising costs.
- Assist in preparation and presentation of education packages on all aspects of workers' compensation as requested by the Workers’ Compensation Lead.
**What you'll need to succeed**
As the Workers’ Compensation Consultant, you will need the following experience and qualifications to successfully perform the duties:
- Working knowledge and previous experience of workers' compensation legislation and claims management.
- Experience of attending conciliation proceedings is highly desirable.
- Strong computer skills are a must-have.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desirable, however not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure confidentiality and use judgement as well as ability to work with people in a respectful and empathetic manner.
