**About the role**
This role is a great opportunity to support both a range of technical and administrative activities supporting one of our key Defence contracts. The role will become an integral member of our Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) program, where we support sustainment activities for two LHDs, HMAS Canberra and Adelaide. The position will provide aspects of administration in support of maintenance certification assurance activities for Navy assets and will and coordinate with key stakeholders to actively drive the validation and acquittal of corrective and planned maintenance tasks. Responsibilities could include:
- Conduct interrogation of assessment management planning system (AMPS) to ensure class and statutory certification requirements are captured during maintenance planning;
- Assist technical authors with interpretation of emergent class and statutory deficiencies for development of repair specifications;
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support the coordination and scheduling of class surveyor attendances;
- Conduct verification and validation activities, ensuring Class Witness Hold points are observed and quality of workmanship standards are met during production phase.
- Assist in the review, compilation of class and statutory objective evidence artefacts for presentation to class society;
- Substitution for Certification Manager during absence or leave periods.
- Other activities as defined by Certification Manager or Program Delivery\Planning Managers
**About you**
You will have a strong technical background and will be eager to utilise your expertise within a corporate setting. You will thrive in a complex environment and pride yourself on your ability to build effective working relationships with various stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally. You will bring passion for the Defence industry and possess the following:
- Construction white card;
- Australian Citizen with Defence security clearance, or ability to obtain (Essential);
- Ability to interpret Engineering drawings/documentation and have knowledge of Engineering maintenance practices;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word and Excel;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail;
- Knowledge of accounting and purchasing/ process/ systems (SAP or other similar systems);
- Ability to accommodate irregular work patterns to meet production requirements when required;
- Suitable experience in a similar role;
- Prior experience or knowledge working in the Defence Industry (Desirable);
- Effective use of AMPS - CMT - DRMS - as the corporate tools (Desirable);
- Understanding of working within a ship maintenance support/delivery environment.
