**Manager Premiums and Markets, Innovation**
- 1x permanent ongoing role, full-time, based in Sydney

**About us**

The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) is an independent agency located within the Department of Customer Service (DCS) and is responsible for regulating motor accidents (CTP) insurance, workers compensation insurance and the home building compensation fund in NSW. We focus on financial support and the treatment people need to recover from injury so they can return to their usual activities. Our key objectives are customer choice and affordability and the effective management and sustainability of the insurance schemes we regulate.

**About the role**

This exciting role involves leading a small team of specialist on innovation and sustainability of the insurance schemes regulated by SIRA.

This role will have a strategic, long-term focus and will be accountable for gathering evidence about future trends and identifying challenges and opportunities to facilitate and drive innovation in the schemes governed by SIRA, including contributions and input into to policy development. Another component of the role will be the management of the innovation framework with the Transitional Excess Profit and Loss of the NSW CTP Scheme.

You will be reporting to the Director Premiums and Markets and will work very closely with the Executive Director Motor Accidents Insurance Regulation. You will gain great exposure to senior executives within SIRA and the broader NSW Government and across the insurance sector, while delivering industry, market and horizon scanning to effectively steward and foster innovation in the insurance schemes regulated by SIRA.

**To be successful in this role you will demonstrate**:

- Enthusiasm and a track record for driving the best outcomes for customers
- Systems thinking and a proven ability to design and deliver innovative solutions
- Proven track record of successful delivery for impact
- Sound understanding of insurance profitability drivers and market dynamics
- Experience in regulation, specifically personal injury schemes regulation, is an advantage
- Proven people leadership experience
- Very sound stakeholder management capability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (influencing and negotiation capability essential)
