**About the **North Eastern Public Health Unit (NEPHU)**

NEPHU is one of nine public health units in Victoria: three in metropolitan Melbourne and six covering regional Victoria. Together these units form a coordinated network, working in partnership with the Department of Health to deliver a comprehensive public health program for Victoria. The NEPHU is led and coordinated by Austin Health with responsibility spanning approximately 1.81m people living in the northeast of metropolitan Melbourne. We work collaboratively to improve the health and wellbeing of the NEPHU population through health promotion, prevention and protection activity. We do this through evidence informed population and place-based responses to current and emerging health needs and emergencies. In this way we contribute to a vision of active connected and safe communities for all - with healthy places, healthy people and a healthier tomorrow. The NEPHU is proud of its diverse multidisciplinary team who provide a service across extended hours seven days per week.

**About the role**

The Digital Communications Design & Development Officer will support the ongoing development and growth of the NEPHU and The Well websites and social media channels. The role will undertake day-to-day and project-based web page (using Wordpress and other content management systems) and social media production and publishing to ensure best practice visual and content authoring.

The role will include completing publishing tasks; working with cross-functional teams (internal and external); and implementing relevant digital strategies and guidelines. Activity will range from designing and developing single web pages or social media campaigns, developing complex online forms, through to supporting complex interactive engagement and major content project initiatives.

A key component of the role is the visual design of content and communications and providing design support and advice to functions across NEPHU, ensuring the NEPHU brand and style is applied across all content and developing and evolving a visual language for NEPHU channels, platforms and media that meets all relevant standards and guidelines.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

- A tertiary qualification in a field related to digital design and development, visual communications or associated disciplines, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience developing and maintaining websites, particularly using Wordpress and implementing plug-ins.
- Demonstrated visual design and communications skills and experience, such as video production, illustration, and graphic design.
- Demonstrated digital and social media content creation skills across a variety of mediums and platforms, with the ability to understand technical information and reproduce it into a form that is engaging and easy-to-understand.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and relationship skills with proven ability to engage with diverse groups of people.
