**The Role**
Contribute to Defence industry security capability and join a great workplace in a challenging and rewarding role.
We are looking for project management professionals who have a problem-solving centric mindset that will ensure that Defence and Defence industry has the security protection needed to ensure uncompromised capability.

The main responsibilities of the role will be:

- Lead the team that manages complex Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) cases.
- Establish and deliver DISP priorities, practices, and methodologies to ensure quality outcomes.
- Ensure the management and handling of information across Defence industry and DISP entities is effective, efficient and secured.
- Undertake high-level research and analysis surrounding complex security issues, raise risks and proactively putting forward recommendations.
- Strong analytical thinking in particular with addressing the role of DISP in supply chain security and risk management is highly regarded but not essential.

We will be creating merit pool to fill vacancies over the next 18months.

**About our Team**
The DISP is essentially security vetting for Australian businesses. We help Australian businesses meet security requirements when delivering Defence contracts and tenders. We give DISP members access to Defence security advice, support service, and help members better understand and manage security risks across their businesses.

These positions are important for building Defence capability and carries an entitlement to receive Building Defence Capability Premium (BDCP) to eligible employees. The employment category is viewed as being of strategic significance to Defence capability, and assign a premium of up to 12% of eligible salary and allowances to employees occupying specific positions within that employment category.

What sort of skills do I need?
- Experience in leading small, high performing teams and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- A strong ability for identifying issues that require complex management and the ability to manage sensitive and high-risk issues with diligence, thought and discretion.
- Experience in analysing complex security issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions to improve processes and address challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, coordinating efforts, and ensuring effective communication to achieve shared goals.
- Adapting to changing priorities, managing competing demands, and navigating through evolving requirements and regulations working in a fast-paced environment.
