**About The Role**

If there’s one thing we’ve learnt over the past twenty four months it’s the importance of community. Social connection and a sense of belonging make it easier for individuals and groups to thrive and overcome obstacles.

You will be part of the Community & Culture team which applies an asset-based community development approach to achieve ongoing community engagement to build and sustain strong local communities.

**You will**:

- Facilitate cooperative networks across government, non-government, community and cultural institutions that can assist connection and develop community capacity.
- Identify community and cultural assets and work with community to build social capital, resilience and activation of community and cultural spaces.
- Grow community and cultural leadership and participation across Woollahra LGA.
- Actively promote community and cultural life by planning and coordinating key events within Council and across the Woollahra Community (For e.g. International Women’s Day, NAIDOC Week, Harmony Week, International Day for People with Disability, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence, Seniors Festival, Mental Health Month, support community led exhibitions and projects, oversee Woollahra Grants Program, Disability Inclusion Action Plan and Reconciliation Action Plan etc.)

This position may require occasional after-hours work.

**About You**

**As an experienced Development worker, you will have**:

- Experience in community engagement or development
- Capacity to build collaborative partnerships, networks and connections with a range of stakeholders
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a multi-functional environment
- Excellent written communication skills including the ability to interpret data, write reports and submissions
- Tertiary qualifications and current Class C driver licence
