The Procurement Officer role is within the Taskforce and supports the Assistant Director to deliver a range of financial and procurement activities. The successful occupant in this role requires:

- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and multiple levels
- Demonstrated ability undertake work with a moderate level of complexity and sensitivity under limited guidance
- Sound knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks and best practice with regards to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.

**Position Duties**
The Procurement Officer will be responsible to ensure the procurement activities align with the Taskforce deliverables, budget, and governance structures.

This will include:

- Provide relevant and accurate advice on financial management, financial policy, procurement, and contracting matters.
- Undertake financial administration and analysis including financial and procurement reporting
- Assist with internal budget maintenance, including mid-year review
- Assist the Taskforce in procurement and contracting requirements, undertaking audits to ensure compliance and improve data integrity
- Develop and maintain good communication channels with relevant stakeholders to facilitate and deliver on the requirements of the Taskforce
- Contribute to the team’s innovation and continuous business process improvement and identify risks and business opportunities.

**Estimated start date**

**Initial contract duration**
Initial contract until 28 June 2024 with the possible options for extension.

**Extension Term Details**
Austrade may extend the term of the work order for a further period (or periods) of up to 30 June 2025, which may be taken in whole or part, and in any number of combinations of time periods.

**Location of work**
Canberra or Melbourne based.

**Working arrangements**
Current working arrangements is 3 days in the Office and 2 days a week offsite.

**Security Clearance**
A Baseline Security Clearance is required as a minimum.

The Taskforce was established on 1 July 2021 to deliver a simpler, more efficient and digitalised cross-border trade environment; that will deliver benefits to business, the broader economy and government. The Taskforce is leading work across Commonwealth Government agencies to simplify Australia’s international trade regulations, modernise outdated ICT systems, and strengthen Australia’s economic resilience. As part of this work to make cross‐border trade easier for Australian businesses, the Taskforce is required to communicate these changes to a variety of audiences, such as the public, other government agencies and business stakeholders.

The Taskforce has a vacancy for an APS6 Procurement Officer.
