**What’s the role?**

This is a newly created role for an experienced Picture Editor to join our NewsWire team. We seek a creative and energetic applicant that will join a team providing the country’s premium news content. You will need to collaborate with editors, photographers, graphic designers and external industry stakeholders to attain the very best visuals to illustrate our stories.

**Who are you?**
- Ideally experience in having worked on the picture desk
- Management experience dealing with photographic staff, agencies and libraries
- Picture research
- An understanding of photography - composition and lighting techniques
- A passion for publishing - both in print and digital
- Multimedia and social media skills - Video, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
- Software skills - Photoshop, PhotoMechanic and file transfer protocols such as FTP, DropBox, Google Drive and WeTransfer. Should also be proficient in using the Google suite of apps.
- Proven organisational skills - you will need to be able to handle many complex tasks at once, manage multiple projects, work to publishing deadlines under intense pressure, and liaise with editors and contributors.
- An ability to learn - the applicant will be required to learn to use our unique publishing systems. Eidos’ Methode and OpenText’s Content Hub for Publishers.
