Event Planner/orgnaiser

This is an exciting opportunity to join the management team of the award-winning BMD Northcliffe Surf Club. For this role we are searching for an Event Planner/Organiser who will work directly with our Functions team to deliver exceptional experiences for our members and guests.

The successful applicant will be an energetic and positive manager who has a passion for events and functions. Along with events experience you will have worked in restaurant and beverage operations also.

Our newly renovated Club has an inviting and beach-house modern aesthetic, it offers something for everyone including a large bistro seating 300 people, a large outdoor Deck area that is fully weatherproof and the perfect event space, a generous bar pouring fresh wine on tap and Balter XPA tank beer, KENO, a large TAB area and a beautifully designed gaming room with 49 gaming machines.
Located at the southern end of Surfers Paradise, our venue is a popular choice for visitors and locals of the Gold Coast, attracting over 5,000 customers weekly with over 13,000 members.

**Job Details**:

- On the day event coordination including setting up and packing down of the event space and operating TV and AV equipment
- Liaising with clients on the day of their event
- Confidently handling any last-minute requests and issues
- Working closely with the kitchen team, keeping open and clear communication lines at all times
- Food and beverage service which includes carrying multiple plates
- Finalising accounts and taking payment
- Delegating, coordinating and supervising staff
- Promote and market events and functions to future clients
- Dealing confidently with face to face enquiries, compliments and complaints
- Providing quotes and/or costs for catering, room hire, decorations and set-up to potential clients
- Retrieve quotes for required external services
- Assisting with day to day reservations and enquiries
- Providing administration support to the events team which may include but is not limited to answering enquiries and creating run sheets
- Assisting with general food and beverage operations and management when required
- Report on event and service outcomes

This is a hands-on role that will have you executing events and participating in all aspects of service to always ensure that we are meeting the expectations of our members and guests.

Your strong hospitality experience combined with dedication, enthusiasm and hard work will be appreciated and nurtured.

**About you**:

- Minimum 2 years event/management experience
- Strong customer focus and a passion for hospitality
- Exceptional ability to prioritise, problem solve and work well under pressure
- Excellent communication skills
- Be proactive and anticipate guest needs
- Has a positive approach to working within a team and encouraging colleagues
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation
- Possess outstanding people skills with the ability to interact with and manage a range of different personalities
- Happy to work days, nights, weekends and school holidays
- RSA essential

**Salary**: From $65,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- Advanced Diploma / Associate Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Events management: 2 years (preferred)
