The Centre for Heritage and Culture is one of three research centres in the Institute for Resilient Regions. The CHC is interdisciplinary, drawing on research in humanities, social sciences, law and creative arts to deepen our knowledge of contemporary regional communities. Its world-class research in archaeology, history and heritage studies explores past societies and cultures to understand their significance in the present.

**What you'll do**

The Researcher Fellow will have primary responsibility for developing a new cultural assets model based on existing and newly created data sets. This prototype model will deliver a suite of new information and user-defined spatial frameworks, incorporating spatial datasets and cultural assets, and develop new tools to inform the assessment of cultural water. **What will help you succeed**
- Postgraduate qualification in Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated professional experience and/or research expertise in geospatial analysis and mapping, particularly using GIS, remote sensing, machine learning, and AI.
- An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous communities.
