**Your new role**:
This exciting opportunity reports to the Coordinator, Emergency Managment and collaborates with many staff and partner agencies. You would deliver effective governance and executive duties to support the effective functions of the Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee, maintaining currency of various plans, arrangements and standard operating procedures.

You would also be available (rostered and remunerated) to respond to emergencies, undertaking the statutory roles of Municipal Emergency Management Officer (MEMO) and Municipal Recovery Manager (MRM) to support people affected by emergencies. In large-scale events, you may be a key leader overseeing significant response and resources.

This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $92,933 - $101,496 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee. You would be expected to be on a roster for after-hours MEMO availability, for which an allowance would be paid.

The key selection criteria for this role are:

- Highly developed communication skills - both verbal and written - along with outstanding collaboration and partnering skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a calm and efficient manner and to develop innovative solutions to meet tight timelines and highly dynamic emergency situations
- Demonstrated experience ibn leading and motivating people
- Good working knowledge of Knox City Council resources and operations in the municipality, infrastructure, services and communities
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
