**About the Role**

This role will support the Product & Portfolio Manager in our Member Design, Product and Portfolio team to provide value to Avant members and policy holders.

This includes all career segments of a doctor’s career stage from Medical Student to a fully qualified Medical Practitioner as well as medical practices.

This role will give you the opportunity to join a supportive team that is focused on providing a tailored service proposition for members in these segments while effectively managing the risk associated with certain medical specialties.

The key internal contacts for this role are within the Member Solutions and Member Experience & Operations teams, Growth teams and Actuarial teams within Avant.

**The principle purposes of the position are to**:

- Assist the Product & Portfolio Manager with miscellaneous administration of the member portfolio ensuring all documentation and customer files are maintained in accordance with Avant’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure that risk is assessed across the MI portfolio taking data and insights from Practitioner and Practice, you will be an active player in braking down any silos of information.
- Provide portfolio analysis and performance monitoring to support portfolio management and product pricing.
- Understand the drivers of losses (claims) in the portfolio and be a key player in activities to reduce frequency and severity across the portfolio and in particular specialties and segments.
- Prepare Executive level reports to demonstrate the implications and opportunities coming out of the portfolio analysis.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to effectively support them in implementing sales, service, operational, process initiatives, and in the identification of continuous improvement and adherence to processes and requirements.

**Key Opportunities**:

- Supporting the Product & Portfolio team by having a robust understanding of our value proposition within the greater Avant;
- Working with key stakeholders across the business to achieve Avant portfolio targets; and
- Maintain proactive, collaborative and effective working relationships with other team members.

**Key skills required to perform the role**:

- Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, banking and/or finance
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of daily tasks and a high personal standard in all work areas
- Demonstrated experience in roles requiring growth and retention of a customer base.
- Problem solving and implementing practical solutions
- Ongoing monitoring and improvement of risk and compliance controls
- Proactively responds and adapts to change; supports and influences strategies to enable business transformation and enhancement
- Strong written & verbal communication; expresses ideas effectively in individual and group situations
- Experience dealing with direct customers through either sales or service with experience in financial services products
- Demonstrated ability to support the reporting requirements of the team.
