Our cellar door is located on and overlooks our picturesque Healesville vineyard at the foot of the Black Spur Range and is bounded by the Graceburn Creek. Our cellar door prides itself on delivering a professional yet relaxed and friendly atmosphere with a great team of tight-knit staff sharing their knowledge and love of wine while delivering outstanding customer service and hospitality. This is why people come back time and time again.

The last 3 years in particular have seen the business and cellar door grow significantly. With major redevelopment soon to commence, we are now looking for a friendly, experienced and outgoing person to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager and Events Coordinator reporting to the Cellar Door Manager.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Opening & closing procedures
- Overseeing the full operation of the shift by leading, supervising mentoring and managing our sales, kitchen and floor teams
- Meeting and greeting customers and being the responsible manager and face of the business
- Overseeing table allocations for bookings and walk-ins
- Overseeing the throughput of the shift to avoid bottlenecks
- Leading, supervising and coaching to ensure that all staff deliver a high level of customer service
- Overseeing the general safety and cleanliness of the cellar door and surrounds
- Wine sales and delivering small and group tastings
- Assist in staff recruitment, training & development
- Assist with forward rostering
- Assistance with standard operating procedures such as banking, bookings, stock and merchandise control
- Primary point of contact for function and event enquiries including weddings, birthdays etc
- Liaison with event customers before, during and after their event including availability, quoting, rostering, setup, event supervision and wrap up

Job Requirements

This is a full time position reporting to and working closely with the Cellar Door Manager. Our cellar door operates from Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm and so the benefit here is that most are day shifts with occasional nights required for events. The person we need must be available every Saturday and every second Sunday on a rotating roster opposite to the Cellar Door Manager.

Most of all, we are looking for a friendly and down to earth person with previous experience in the supervision, coaching and leadership of small to medium teams in a fast paced and service-driven hospitality environment. Current RSA qualifications are essential and knowledge of Food Safety is an advantage. Wine industry experience is preferred however we would also consider people who have a strong passion for wine and who may have worked in other similar hospitality environments.
