The work of the Funding and Revenue Branch requires professionals in administrative, policy, financial and compliance roles that come together under the leadership of our directors. Our work is often high profile, and we often get to engage directly with the department's external stakeholders including industry, representative groups, and our Ministers.

The Levies Compliance Team is responsible for the delivery of an annual risk-based compliance program that encourages levy payers to voluntarily comply with legislation and provides assurance to government and industry stakeholders that levy collections are materially complete. The team mitigates the risks of non-compliance by establishing and undertaking effective compliance activities in line with the regulatory responsibilities outlined in legislation and the department's regulatory responsibilities.

**The Jobs**
Under the direction of the Regional Manager, the duties of the roles will include:

- managing a diverse caseload of levy accounts across multiple agriculture sectors
- monitoring and following up of missing returns and agent enquiries
- identifying new levy payers
- identifying breaches of legislation and recommending action
- conducting inspections of levy agent records, both on-site and remotely
- exercising the powers of an authorised officer in a regulatory, investigation and compliance role
- conducting research and providing technical advice and recommendations on complex matters in relation to legislation and departmental policies and procedures
- participating in the planning and implementation of a variety of proactive strategies to promote and encourage voluntary compliance in a regulatory environment
- representing the department and liaising and negotiating with internal and external clients.

**Please note** that this recruitment process will initially be used to fill multiple ongoing vacancies and that the roles may be performed from any of the locations listed on the Job Description. The merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.

**What we are looking for**

**Knowledge and experience**
- Demonstrated experience in a compliance or client focused role.
- Demonstrated experience managing a client caseload.
- Experience working on projects as part of a team.

**Eligibility and other requirements**
The successful applicants must:

- hold and maintain a valid Australian motor vehicle drivers licence
- note that in order to attend a client's office they may be required to undergo Q-Fever tests and that Q-Fever immunisation may be required where immunity cannot be established
- note that occasional intra and interstate travel will be required for periods of up to one week's duration at a time.
