**About - the Department of Rural Health**

The School of Rural Health was established in February 2002 and became the Department of Rural Health in 2010 when it was incorporated into the Melbourne Medical School. In 2015, the Centre was renamed the Department of Rural Health (DRH), Melbourne Medical School.

The Department of Rural Health attracts the majority of its funding from the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing through programs aimed at establishing a rural-focused national network of medical and health professional training. The Department enables health students to undertake training in rural environments and provides rural communities with greater access to teaching and research facilities and greater clinical support.

**About the Role**

The position of Rural Services Development Coordinator, reporting to the Senior Health Promotion Manager (Loddon Mallee), will be critical in supporting CERSH to reach its vision that all rural Victorians have access to quality sexual health care, information and support that is tailored to their individual needs. The position will catalyse and deliver targeted opportunities for the rural and regional clinical workforce. The Rural Services Development Coordinator primary responsibility is to establish a coordinated pathway to increase the number of healthcare professionals and practices who are competent and confident to deliver services. This will be achieved by building collaborations and partnerships between institutions, agencies, services and individuals.

Responsibilities include:

- Ensure that all School communications and collateral are aligned with University marketing and communications policies and guidelines
- Liaise with the Senior Health Promotion Manager, and on request, the Department of Health in relation to CERSH service agreement and funding requirements.
- Coordination including oversight of project timeline, deliverables and risks.
- Build rapport and establish regular contact with CERSH partners and collaborators, and other senior personnel, and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular interaction with CERSH staff and provide project information at a high standard to interested internal and external parties.

**About You**

You will bring a high level of interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills, including the development of partnerships to achieve common goals. You will have excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.

You will also have:

- A relevant tertiary qualification; or relevant experience in health care management or health care programs in a rural or regional environment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, managing and delivering healthcare initiatives/ programs for clinical healthcare professionals.
- A comprehensive understanding of the primary health care system, MBS and the rural and regional healthcare environment.
