Overview:
- Full-time, Continuing position- Salary Academic Level B + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements- Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University- Exciting opportunity to shape the future of journalism education and research, fostering new industry partnerships and enhancing our academic offerings.
About You
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate journalism courses.- Engaging in scholarly research activities, contributing to the field of journalism through research and industry partnerships.- Enhancing our discipline's research culture with active contributions to journalism studies, especially in adapting journalism practices to new and emerging media platforms.- Working collaboratively with the Journalism team, coordinating courses, academic advising, student selection, and other related duties.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
- An in-depth knowledge of journalism and the ability to bridge between industry and scholarly research in the field.- Ability to prepare and deliver courses at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, and to produce high-quality curriculum materials.- Ability to undertake course coordination roles.- Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs in journalism evidenced by publications, development of research initiatives and industry links.-
- Ability to build effective networks with industry as well as the academy and generate funded partnerships with industry and government.-
- Mandatory: PhD or equivalent in relevant field
