The role
As part of our Deployable Health & Infrastructure group, the Sterilisation Technician will is responsible for carrying out the cleaning, assembly, inspection, wrapping and sterilisation of surgical instruments and medical equipment for Saabs Deployable Health Support Centre. The Technician will work standard business hours on a 9 Day fortnight basis.
- Provide clinical leadership - providing direction, support, supervision, teaching and specific clinical specialty direction for CSSD Technicians.
- Undertake receipt/despatch duties, stocktaking as well as manual handling of Medical Consumables
- As tasked by the Maintenance Manager, prioritise work task requirements to optimise project needs
- Ongoing business improvement activities to support future projects, trial solutions, risk mitigation activities and ongoing upgrades
- Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, safety and duty of care and the quality management system
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role._
About you
- Your skills and experience will include:_
Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience working in a within a CSSD, minimum 2 years in leadership/Team leader role
Certificate III in Sterilisation services
Sound knowledge of accreditation standards ACHS/AS/NZ 4187 Standards and HICMR
Demonstrated ability to show leadership and the ability to work with a wide range of people in a team environment
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
Intermediate computer literacy skills - including MS office and various data bases.
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a baseline clearance.
