**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Freshwater Environment Manager who is passionate about environmental sustainability This key role will ensure Huon’s freshwater Hatcheries and Nurseries are compliant with all environmental regulations and standards and partner closely with the Freshwater Operations team to ensure waste is continually responsibly managed.

In this role, our new Freshwater Environment Manager will:

- Coordinate and implement environmental and regulatory management framework across our sites and ensure licences, approvals and permits are obtained and maintained in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Conduct investigations for any environmental hazards and/or incidents.
- Oversee wastewater treatment systems to maximise efficiency.
- Organise environmental sampling and analysis of results, including monitoring and management of wastewater and irrigation water.
- Prepare reports and make recommendations aligned to environmental licence requirements, support audit management plans and outcomes and assist with the preparation of Environmental Management Plans for new developments.

Operating on a full-time basis, this role is located in Southern Tasmania with regular travel to all Freshwater sites.

**ABOUT YOU**
- You will hold a relevant environmental tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience in wastewater treatment and monitoring.
- Have demonstrated knowledge of current environmental legislation and ability to collate, interpret, analyse, and report information.
- Be experienced in planning and implementing environmental site audits and an adept ability to engage, manage, and influence diverse stakeholder groups.
- The ability to work autonomously, self-managing workload to meet competing priorities and

timelines, and the ability and willingness to adapt quickly to change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a range of styles in alignment with Huon’s values.
