- Environment Policy has an exciting opportunity for an Environment Policy and Project officer role to join the team undertaking a broad range of policy and project work across environmental, conservation and waste management legislation and policy development. Key work for the role will be to project manage the policy development of a new Threatened Species Strategy for Tasmania. Additional work that the team undertakes is to develop new legislation, review current legislation and develop supporting policy and legislative instruments. This team supports the work of Policy, Projects and Regulatory Services and the broader Environment group in Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania.The Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania is committed to investing in its people to ensure a sustainable and successful organisation through a positive workplace culture and highly capable employees. **Hours per fortnight**:
73.50 (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

**Period of Appointment**:
For 2 years

**Duties**:
The purpose of the role is to coordinate legislative and policy functions to further the objectives of legislation and policy relating to threatened species management in Tasmania. This role includes managing allocated projects and coordinating project teams as required.

**Desirable Qualifications and Requirements**:

- A tertiary qualification relevant to the duties to be undertaken.
- A current motor vehicle driver's licence.
