The Water Group is currently seeking to appoint a **Project Officer (Property)** in a temporary capacity to September 2026, with the possibility of extension.

The Project Officer (Property) will coordinate the effective administration of property-related processes, transactions and agreements in relation to land and interests in the name of the Water Administration Ministerial Corporation (WAMC) ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks and DCCEEW policies and procedures.

**Key accountabilities**
- Coordinate the collection and analysis of property asset information and prepare briefs, reports and recommendations to assist ongoing management of assets in accordance with WAMC obligations and the WAMC Corporate Strategy.
- Coordinate approvals and administration of property transactions and agreements and resolve ownership issues in-line with government policies, guidelines and relevant delegations.
- Co-ordinate specialist legislative and policy advice regarding impacts and recommended pathways for property transactions, including transfers, easements, caveats, leases and access agreements.
- Provide advice on the use of authorized WAMC delegations for the purpose of acquiring land and interests in land in accordance with the Water Management Act 2000.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures to improve work practices, systems and processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and outcomes related to land dealings.

**Key challenges**
- Managing multiple land and property transactions that can involve sensitive stakeholder issues with conflicting priorities and limited resources.
- Ensuring DCCEEW achieves desired outcomes in the negotiations and management of land and property matters in support of the WAMC Corporate Strategy and DCCEEW priorities.
- Accurate interpretation of maps and plans including registered survey plans which identify lots and easements that relate to infrastructure, as well as reading and interpreting land titles, gazettal, and dealings that provide the current and historical status of tenures.

**Essential Requirements**
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in property-related fields and/or equivalent relevant working experience in property matters for local or state government.
- A valid NSW Driver Licence and willingness to occasionally travel within NSW which may include overnight stays.
