**Position Tagline**
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated social worker to join the Social Work Department at St George Hospital. This temporary full time position is located within our Women’s and Children’s Health Team. The team covers the antenatal, birthing, maternity and paediatric clinical areas. You will be part of a large, dedicated and highly skilled department working with culturally and socially diverse patients and their families. The position is also required to provide support to other areas within the hospital as required. Applicants are advised that at times the position involves working with vulnerable people and people experiencing trauma, including family violence and pregnancy loss. Applicants are also advised that this position includes ongoing participation in the after-hours on call crisis service, including weekends.

**Where you'll be working**
The Social Work Department is comprised of a large, dedicated and skilled workforce providing a high level of evidence-based patient care. Our departmental wellbeing and social committee also ensures that we support ourselves as well as we support our patients and their families. The St George Hospital and Health Services is part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. It is an accredited, principal teaching hospital of the University of New South Wales and is not only the largest hospital within the Local Health District, but is among the leading centres for trauma and emergency management in NSW. St George Hospital is located 14kms from the Sydney CBD with easy road links to Sydney’s north, south and west. Just a 10 minute walk from Kogarah train station, St George Hospital is very easily accessible by public transport. The local suburb of Kogarah offers employees with easy access to a range of local cafes, shops, services and supermarkets, including the waterside lifestyle at Brighton le Sands and shopping and cinemas at Westfield Hurstville.

**_ All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA).
