We’re executing on an ambitious product vision in 2023 and beyond. As our Head of Product, you’ll be part of our leadership team, partnering incredibly closely with our co-founders to build on this vision and create our product strategy. You’ll lead our product management team, who each own the roadmaps to achieve this strategy, and you’ll continue to grow and mature our product function.
We’re looking for an experienced organisational leader with deep capabilities in all areas of product management, with deep knowledge in the analytical and commercial spaces. You’ll shares our values and knows that culture is the foundation of any high-performing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to have a huge impact on the Dovetail product and take us to the next stage of our company growth. You’ll be leading a product management function at a product-led startup, building a product for product people
**What you'**ll do**
- **Lead our team of high-performing product managers.** You’ll drive exceptional cross-functional collaboration, improve the quality of the product team’s outputs, and execute quickly to meet product goals. You’ll identify gaps in the wider product team—such as product management, design, research, engineering, and product marketing—and help fill them by either coaching the team to reach higher levels of performance or hiring.
- **Grow and mature our product team.** As our Head of Product, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the team’s performance. You will provide coaching, mentoring, feedback, and career development, as well as ensure that expectations and roles are clearly defined in order to reach our key product goals like NPS, activation, conversion, churn, and so on.
- **Communicate and prioritize product work across teams.** You will be responsible for planning and delivering our product vision. This involves defining roadmap priorities for our product teams and working closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams. Your success is dependent on effective collaboration with all teams
- **Be exceptionally pragmatic.** A great product leader is pragmatic. You’ll need to make the right tradeoffs to keep moving forward by balancing a variety of inputs including research, user feedback, analytics, and feedback from sales, customer success, and support. If you’re particularly dogmatic about one thing (e.g. quant data), it won't work.
- **Be** **go-to-market minded.** As a product-led growth company, we expect product to be heavily involved in our go-to-market approach and marketing strategy. You’ll work closely with our sales, customer success, support, and product marketing teams to develop go-to-market and be involved in pricing and packaging, messaging, feature launches, and more.

**Your background**
- **Experienced people manager.** You have managed product people (product managers, designers, and more). You are comfortable giving and receiving feedback to motivate and steer them to success. You know what good looks like and can confidently set goals, hold people accountable, identify areas for improvement, and provide timely guidance.
- **Product management expertise.** You’re an expert in modern cloud software product management. You know how to prioritize and juggle features, improvements, bugs, regressions, and technical debt, and have a track record of delivering. You’re also not afraid to get into the weeds yourself and can actively participate or facilitate brainstorming, workshops, design sparring, etc.
- **Experience in a B2B SaaS startup**. You’ve experienced working in a global 100+ person B2B SaaS company and have an in-depth understanding of key SaaS metrics (e.g. ARR, LTV, ACV) and concepts (e.g. conversion funnel). You have also had direct exposure with the go-to market / customer-facing side of business including working with sales leaders.
- **Quality obsessed.** You have an insanely high quality bar and will constantly be looking for ways for us to enhance our product practice and lift our bar. Whether it’s a rogue widow at the end of a sentence, an icon that’s not pixel-snapped, or an unintuitive user experience interaction, we’re a detailed-oriented company that values quality.
- **Highly collaborative, cross-functional working style.** You’ll work incredibly closely with our Head of Engineering, Head of Design and GTM Leaders, bringing these functions together like one team. You have an understanding of all roles involved in the product development process—including go-to-market—and how each role adds value to the business.
