**About the role**:
Based at our Morwell & Yallourn Campuses, an exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Canteen Attendant to join our team in a casual capacity with regular weekly flexible hours during the school terms to support the efficient operations of the Canteen (approx. 15 - 20 hours per week with the option to increase during busy peaks).

The Canteen Attendant is responsible for preparing and serving hot and cold food and beverages to TAFE Gippsland Staff and Students, whilst maintaining a safe and hygienic workplace and following established food hygiene procedures and practices. The Canteen Attendant provides excellent customer service and promotes a strong customer focus.

**Qualifications and experience**:

- Previous hospitality experience working in a canteen, cafeteria, or café environment
- Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Experience with the preparation and serving of hot and cold food and beverages
- A thorough understanding of occupational health and safety and safe food handling practices
- Cookery and food preparation skills
- Cash handling experience
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work as part of a cohesive team in a busy environment
- Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to learn with a can-do attitude

**Mandatory requirements**
- Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
- Current Police Check (not older than 12 months old)
- A valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Current Driver’s License (some travel between campuses is a requirement of the role)
