As a result of a strong project pipeline, we are seeking a Health & Safety Consultant to join our team and contribute to our South East Queensland-based and national projects. Initially offered on a casual basis, this position presents opportunities for working with diverse team of HSE consultants, excellent working conditions and holds the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future. It is an ideal fit for someone seeking a high level of flexibility in a supportive work arrangement.

We support our valued clients across diverse industry and settings through a range of HSE consulting activities. Including, but not limited to:

- Contractor management assurance activities (both onsite and desktop) in construction, renewable energy, government & non-government, other high risk industry settings
- Management system evaluation, design, decluttering and implementation support aligned with WHS legislative and recognised best practice standards (ISO 45001, ISO 45003, ISO 14001, ISO 9001)
- Technical WHS advisory and consulting support

As a **Health & Safety Consultant**, you will work with and play a pivotal role in helping our clients anticipate, identify, effectively respond, and navigate contemporary health and safety landscape, variability of work and organisational settings. Achieving outcomes that seek to support effective health and safety outcomes for front line team members, organisations, their valued stakeholders and the broader community.

We work hybrid and this role can be based in our **Brisbane **or **Gold Coast** office. This means you will have the opportunity to work in the location that best suits your preferences and work from home for up to two days per week when not required at site, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.

**What you’ll do**
- Contribute to a thriving team culture dedicated to deliver technical excellence and positive client outcomes
- Evaluate HSE plans, systems, onsite arrangements across a range of contexts and industry settings (such as construction, renewable energy, government, manufacturing, insurance and more)
- Conduct desktop and onsite contractor assurance reviews to support our clients in their desired approach to contractor safety management
- Work with diverse range of HSE consultants and partners to explore and deliver contemporary health and safety consulting and compliance solutions.
- Research, analyse, and recommend best practice HSE approaches and deliverables, tailored to your clients’ needs

**About you**

You are likely to have 5+ years of experience in the health and safety profession, looking to make a positive impact to health and safety for improved outcomes for front line workers, teams, our valued clients and communities.

You will ideally bring the following:

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and propose effective solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders across all organisational levels
- Prior experience in performing onsite inspections and audits (ISO 45001, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification would be highly advantageous)
- Experience advising on contemporary approaches to H&S management, including psycho-social risk management
- Understanding or willingness to develop understanding of consulting and project lifecycles, and proactively building client relationships while upholding high service delivery standards
- Australian Driver's License
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a Cert IV in WHS

The role will require the ability to travel for short periods and at times after-hours work (not extensive and suitably remunerated) where required for specific projects.
