**Roster**: Monday-Friday

**Location**:Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

The primary purpose of the Category Specialist is to provide specialist procurement advice on Fortescue's rail category to assist stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage contract arrangements to effectively meet business objectives. This exciting role will also focus on category strategy development and implementation of strategic procurement activities in relation to Fortescue’s rail decarbonisation plan.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Category management and strategic sourcing - develop category strategies that are aligned with Fortescue business objectives and manage the end-to-end sourcing process. Importantly, this role will support the drive to decarbonise Fortescue’s rail asset base.
- Contract management - ensure performance and cost outcomes are achieved under Fortescue’s key operational rail service contracts (including KPI, rise & fall and claims management duties).
- Supplier relationship management - deliver value through effective management of key supplier relationships.
- Governance and risk management - ensure business objectives are met through effective governance, compliance management and the identification, assessment, and treatment of risk.
- Analysis & reporting - effective analysis and reporting of relevant data at all stages of the procurement lifecycle as it relates to rail related services and goods contracts.
- Partnering - create and maintain credible and trusting relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure full alignment of procurement effort with business needs and opportunities

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Demonstrate an alignment to all of Fortescue’s values.
- Significant rail industry and/or resource sector experience in a contracts and procurement team.
- OEM heavy industry experience will also be a valuable attribute.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain/logistics, commerce, law or similar.
- Effective writing skills and attention to detail (e.g. drafting concise recommendations, contract conditions, contract correspondence and variations).
- Effectively self-manage with an ability to efficiently manage priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Show a level of resilience to challenging circumstances.
- Well-developed lateral thinking/problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrate how your experience to date will positively contribute to you being successful in this role.
