**Role**:
**POSITION CONTEXT**

Throughout 2023 - 2025 BioLAB will deliver four applied science and mathematics programs to high ability students in government schools as part of the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series (VCES).

These programs will be designed to engage, challenge and extend these advanced learners in the curriculum areas of science, mathematics and physical education.

The VCES Coordinator will be expected to contribute to the design, coordination, delivery and reporting of these high-quality products.

**PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY**
- Design program content and supporting resources for VCES programs including; presentations, worksheets; student activities; extension activities; teaching and learning resources complimentary to program content.
- Coordinate the booking of VCES programs including liaising with booking teachers and adjusting program content to specific cohort needs.
- Training and upskilling BioLAB teaching staff and mentors to deliver high quality programs that cater for high ability students. Including providing mentor notes; and equipment lists.
- Follow up program delivery with resources and support for teachers and students participating in the program. Including coordination of post program; events, student projects and extension complimentary STEM boxes.
- Coordinate the purchase of any required equipment or consumables for programs and the transport requirements of each program rollout.
- Travel to schools to deliver face to face BioLAB incursion programs to regional / rural students and teachers.
- Develop Performance Measurement tools for students and teachers participating in the VCES program using Microsoft Forms. These surveys will include questions provided by Student Excellence Unit and BioLAB specific content.
- Conduct and complete program evaluation and improvement cycle, based on reviews and audits of survey feedback.

**ADMINISTRATION & REPORTING**
- Liaises with schools and teachers, high ability coordinators to promote and book VCES programs
- Works with BioLAB Administration Officers and the Director to identify school program dates and assist in booking systems entry, and staffing of program rollouts.
- Liaises with other BioLAB staff for analysis of training and development needs to ensure programs meet required quality standards against initiatives and expected outcomes.
- Assists in the training of BioLAB Education and Laboratory Staff including casual employees in VCES initiative requirements, including equipment purchase and maintenance, purchase of consumables and program content.
- Coordinate the collection, analysis and reporting of performance measurement data for internal reports and program evaluation and improvement strategies.
- Provide attendance data, evidence of education program achievements in line with key performance indicators for quarterly reports to the Student Excellence Unit.

**Responsibilities**:
The Key Responsibilities of the **VCES Coordinator **are:

- Project Management of high ability programs as part of the BioLAB contribution to the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series 2023-25.
- Administer and promote the VCES programs utilising existing booking systems and communication strategies to recruit schools and participants.
- Work as a part of the education team to design and develop programs and resources that engage and challenge high ability students in specified learning areas of the Victorian Curriculum.
- Provide expertise in at least two of the following areas: VCE Biology; Physical Education; Mathematics (Year 5-10), STEM curriculum and pedagogy.
