**About the role**

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of the Energy Security Safeguard which is an important component of the NSW Government’s Net Zero Plan.

As the Principal Policy Officer you will contribute to the policy development and implementation process driving better energy outcomes for the people of NSW. Critical to your role will be the ability to influence better outcomes in the policy framework that supports the Energy Security Safeguard by working collaboratively with others.

This role prepares high level advice and briefings for the Executive and the IPART Tribunal to support the delivery of key initiatives.

To be successful in this role you will have a strong understanding of the policy process or a demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge quickly. You will be able to critically analyse issues and navigate pragmatic and solutions focused ways forward.

You will be a self-starter who is proactive and thrives on delivering outcomes. You can effectively manage competing demands and adapt to change.

It is essential that you are able to communication effectively and possess strong relationship management skills.

The salary range for the position is $139,060 - $147,644 per annum + superannuation and annual leave loading.

IPART undertakes independent regulatory functions in the water, transport, local government and energy sectors in NSW. It is the Scheme Regulator and Administrate for the Energy Security Safeguard. We also undertake reviews and investigations into a wide range of economic and policy issues.
