About the role
This role sits within West Moreton Mental Health and Specialised Services (WMHSS) Lived Experience Workforce (LEW) and holds a genuine occupational requirement to have a personal lived/living experience of mental health and/or substance use issues.
The purpose of this role is to identify and resolve barriers to service access, and to improve health and help seeking behaviours for consumers of West Moreton Mental Health Community and Acute Services.
About you
- Knowledge of recovery principles and strength-based approach in working with consumers who have mental health issues.
- Well-developed communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
- Skills in computer literacy.
- Ability to advocate for the consumer perspective to identify service improvement.
- Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate psycho education and groups to mental health service consumers.
- Ability to share lived experience of recovery to assist consumers and staff within the role.
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to have a personal lived/living experience of mental health and/or substance use issues, or a personal lived/living experience of caring for a person with mental health and/or substance use issues.
