CRM Recruitment are exclusively partnering with a busy City Council who are currently going through a transformation and uplift so in turn are seeking a Risk Management Coordinator to join their team located conveniently near the CBD.

This is a hands-on role within a small governance and risk team where touch points to the internal stakeholders and executives is high. Working closely with the broader organisation you will directly impact and add value to the broader organisation to ensure legislative compliance is fit for purpose. The management team boast a collaborative culture and aims to build your knowledge and career within the sector while enjoying the benefits of work life balance.

Reporting into the Manager of Corporate Strategy and Performance your primary responsibilities include:

- Provide advice and support to elected members and other staff on statutory compliance, ethical conduct and good governance
- Undergo high levels of internal stakeholder engagements from operations all the way up to General Manager levels
- Coordinate the maintenance and review of Council’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework
- Illustrate your understanding of legislation, policy and all regulations and be able to offer suitable advice
- Assist in coordinating Internal Audits, review Internal Audit Plan along with long term Internal Audit Plans.
- Manage and facilitate high level council meetings, run agendas and review instruments regarding legislations where you will be responsible for taking minutes
- Keep abreast of changes in applicable laws and regulations
- 2+ years of experience within the government sector
- Strong research and analytical skills and a great understanding of the local government environment
- Strong communication skills, to work with council and stakeholders
- Good eye for detail - Highly developed reading and writing skills
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Law or Related field. Equivalent Experience accepted
