**Key role of this position**
The Quality and Risk Advisor supports the client to implement, improve and adhere to the requirements of their quality program. The will provide support and advice, conduct audits and checks against the quality system, and assist personnel to develop knowledge and understanding of quality and risk matters.

**Core duties and responsibilities**

**Quality and Risk**

- Develops the Division’s risk management program to achieve compliance with their Risk Management Policy and procedures.
- Administers the development and monitoring of the quality program to include the development of an audit program to address quality and rail safety risks.
- Coordinates the ongoing review of risks and risk treatment plans, safety and quality plan and relevant procedures and processes.
- Contributes to the development and review of work methodologies related to quality plans.
- Conducts internal quality audits, prepares reports and verifies timely close out of audit findings.
- Facilitates and participates in risk assessment workshops, provides advice on quality requirements to satisfy client/customer requirements and compiles risk assessment reports.
- Coordinates quarterly performance reports for management.

- Provides a positive, proactive and professional advisory service to managers and employees on quality and risk matters.

**Continuous Improvement**

- Monitors and provides advice of trends and developments in the area of quality management systems to ensure continuous improvement of safety and quality management systems.
- Identifies opportunities and improvements to processes, procedures and policies within the area of responsibility to ensure continuous improvement of working practices.

**Other**
***
- Liaises with functional and operational areas and other relevant government agencies on quality and risk matters as required.
- Provides support and guidance for compliance reporting activities within the Division.

**Core Competencies**

- Relevant experience in quality and risk issues in a complex operational environment, including the ability to assist in provision of advice in the workplace.
- Knowledge and understanding of organisational risk management, business continuity, crisis management or internal auditing functions.

**Special Requirements**
- Satisfactory completion of required medical examinations to verify physical fitness to perform the duties of the position.
