An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and highly motivated individual to join the Delivery and Strategy Branch as a Policy Officer, Strategy at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
The Delivery and Strategy Branch reports to the Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet and works across government to quickly analyse and identify solutions to priority policy and delivery issues. The Strategy team works on high priority projects on a range of policy and operational topics.
As a Policy Officer, Strategy, you will support the Branch to deliver projects employing consulting and strategy approaches to partner with central agency shadow economic and social policy groups on cross-portfolio priority projects identified by the Premier, Secretary or other DPC senior executives.
You will have the opportunity to work on a breadth of policy and delivery issues across government, while building and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders. This role requires a proactive self-starter with a passion for public policy, a good understanding of government processes and an ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast-paced environment.
**About you**
- Sound knowledge of the processes, policies and procedures within government.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound conceptual and analytical skills, initiative and a ‘can do' approach to identifying issues and providing strategic advice.
- Excellent time and task management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Please note that a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in a relevant discipline is a mandatory requirement for this role.
