**About the Role**
- Full time and Part Time x2 (flexible working hours), Permanent roles available
- Consumer Service Delivery Level 2 with a salary range of $71,215 - $76,353 per annum + Superannuation

- Location: Ipswich, Hours of work: 8:30am to 5:00pm, with some after hours and weekend work required

**Program Overview**

The Peer Wellbeing Coach is part of an integrative team delivering stepped care mental health services from Neami’s Living and Learning Centre at Ipswich. The Living and Learning Centre Ipswich operates within the Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset Local Government Areas and is open Monday to Friday during usual business hours. The Centre has been funded by the Darling Downs and West Morton PHN as part of their Stepped Care suite of strategies.

The Living and Learning Centre Ipswich will receive referrals from GP’s, community and government service providers as well as self-referrals from members of the community. The integrative team screens referrals to determine eligibility, assess individual needs and assist access to appropriate services delivered by the team and other community providers. The team is made up of Peer Wellbeing Coaches and Mental Health Clinicians.

**About your new role**

The Peer Wellbeing Coach is an integral member of the team and draws on their lived experience of recovery from mental illness to instill confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery. The role works collaboratively in planning and co-facilitating peer groups based on the self-development. The role assists new consumers in their entry into the program and in provides individual support to consumers focusing on their strengths to achieve identified goals. The role will be expected to provide welcome/reception and intake service at the Living and Learning Centre.

The Peer Wellbeing Coach must have their own lived experience of mental illness or personal experience in caring for someone who experiences mental illness and possess a rich understanding of their experiences of mental health recovery. As a Peer Wellbeing Coach, you must be willing to purposefully use your own story to help others further their own understanding of recovery. The role will have access to a tailored training program and to regular opportunities to reflect upon and develop their practice.

**What you will bring to the role?**
- Lived experience of mental illness or experience of being a carer for someone experiencing mental illness and demonstrated experience of recovery
- Experience of the public or private mental health system; and
- A demonstrated experience in facilitating groups, including the ability to prioritise different needs within a group
- Ability to be flexible and to adapt and respond to change
- Ability to foster and maintain respectful, professional relationships with consumers, staff and organisations
- Computer literacy and written communication skills

**What the role requires**:

- National Criminal History Check (Police check) - disclosable outcomes considered
- Current Working with Children Check required before commencement of work
- Current Drivers licence
- Australian Working Rights
