An opportunity is now available for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work with the MR-linac research group to investigate ways to improve treatment outcomes and care for cancer patients.
You will participate in multi-disciplinary projects, mentor staff and university students undertaking research at GenesisCare, and aid in developing first class patient care in collaboration with the clinical teams.
On offer is a permanent full-time opportunity, working 38hours/week in a hybrid role based out of our head office in Alexandria/St Vincent's Hospital/work from home.
More specifically, you will:
- Provide guidance on research and development opportunities relevant to the organisation.
- Develop research protocols in collaboration with clinicians, researchers, and IT personnel.
- Aid in enhancing radiotherapy workflow efficiency tools through coding and IT collaborations, and handle data transfer and storage issues as needed to ensure the maintenance of data integrity.
- Aid GenesisCare clinical and research staff in various research activities, such as preparing manuscripts, abstracts, and conference presentations.
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
- A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in medical physics, computer science, mathematics or similar.
- Demonstrated experience in at least three of the following fields is essential: Medical Image Computing/analysis / Machine learning / Deep Learning / Radiation Oncology / Medical Physics / MRI Physics / Adaptive treatment / MRI imaging.
- Proven ability to be both self-directed and work independently within a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and researchers, with ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated expertise in writing and testing well-structured and documented code and supporting others to do this.
- Commitment to conducting research under strict ethical and regulatory guidelines.
- Experience in radiation oncology, the use of MRI for cancer imaging and experience in imaging biomarker development is desirable.
- Flexibility in working times and locations and ability to travel if required.
