**What you'll be doing**

This position provides assistance and support to the Equipment Services Department in the ISLHD in the delivery of services to patients / clients, under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional AHP and the Equipment Services Coordinator.
The role involves assisting AHP's and equipment services staff in the daily operation of the equipment services, some duties include but are not limited to equipment cleaning / room tidying and departmental administrative responsibilities, equipment deliveries and pick ups, equipment set ups, equipment follow ups and reports, equipment troubleshooting and repairs within scope of training and practice.
The Allied Health Assistant may be expected to work across sites and participate in weekend work. Salary Level is dependent on qualifications:

- Level 1 - No Qualifications;
- Level 2 - Completion of 12 or more months' service as an Allied Health Assistant Level 1 or Certificate III or other qualification deemed equivalent;
- Level 3 - Certificate IV qualification or other qualification deemed equivalent

This position will require the incumbent to take part in the regular delivery and collection of heavy equipment items such as patient lifters, community type hospital beds etc, in the community using the departments delivery van.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Successful applicants to the role must provide certified documentation of vaccination history and pathology as part of their recruitment documentation. **Selection Criteria**
- Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent work experience and a willingness to work towards certification.
- Demonstrated high levels of oral and written communication skills with the ability to work confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team as well as independently under mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).
- Demonstrated proficiency in minor mechanical repairs, proficient use of tools and inspection requirements of equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to assess hazards or risk and problem solve appropriately in line with WH&S regulations.
- Current NSW drivers licence or equivalent.
